Ongoing projects related to trails and non-motorized transportation
WATERFRONT TRAIL
This trail is currently being designed to run from the Esplanade at DeLaet's Landing to the City boat launch. This trail will provide connections between the northern and southern portions of the City. It is eventually intended to connect all the way to South Troy!
HOLLOW TRAIL
This trail will turn the existing paths in the hollow into an official multi-use trail. The goal of this grant is to make the Hollow more accessible for all users, regardless of their capabilities. This trail will have on-road and off-road connections to the Empire State Trail, which will eventually run from Manhattan to the northern tip of Lake Champlain and already runs from Albany to Buffalo!
HOLLOW PARKING AREA
This project will create a well-drained parking area for those who use the Hollow trail. The funding for this project and these improvements was provided through a DEC Environmental Benefits Fund; this fund was mandated by the DEC to provide environmentally sound projects in the neighborhoods surrounding the Dunn Landfill.
